A Quick Note:  It's Anniversary Celebration Week at VDBC!  There are tons of challenges and prizes to be won.  Click here to find the spot where all the challenges will be posted (there are already a few posted by yours truly).  Also, be sure to sign up for the VDBC Newsletter so you'll get the Anniversary Guide that's coming out soon!

Are you ready for the big VDBC Anniversary Celebration this weekend?  I think the Guide to all the festivities will be coming out tomorrow.  If you aren't on the VDBC newsletter email list, you'll be missing out!  Be sure to sign up {on the front page of the VDBC store} to get all the details.  It's going to be more fun than a box of rocks!  I promise!

Todays trend is: Cameos

You may have noticed the plethora of cameos in last week's Trendwatch Tuesday: Vintage Halloween.  In fact, there were so many that the trend last would could have been cameos instead of Vintage Halloween.  Cameos have been popping up all over the crafty-net, and not just for Halloween. The papercrafting world certainly is not one to ignore a trend.

I couple of years ago, I made a tutorial on how to make a nice clean silhouette (aka cameo) with your digital die-cut machine.  I've re-posted that tutorial below, so be sure to scroll down and take a look.  Maybe you'll want to make some of your own!

Some manufacturers are producing actual cameos for your papercrafting pleasures, some are using the motif on paper or stickers.

From We R Memory Keepers, here are a lovely set of cameos from the Tres Elegant line.  Very very pretty!

Websters Pages has some gorgeous silhouette designs.  Very pretty and very detailed.  They have quite a few Christmas cameos, too.

The Girls' Paperie also has some pretty cameos in traditional and floral styles.  These are from their Vintage Whimsy line.
For papers, here's one of my favorites from Bo Bunny.  I know you're saying, "Hey it's missing the cameo, Jan!"  What I like about it is that you can add your own!
Want some more great frames to add your own cameos to?  How about these from Teresa Collins' Notations collection? Wait, I think this might be my favorite.
Also from Teresa Collins, a lovely cameo paper from the Posh Collection.  I think this paper is unique because the silhouettes themselves have a more 1950's style to them rather than a Victorian style.  I like it!
Here's another great cameo paper.  This time from Hambly Screen Prints.  Their cameo paper comes in four awesome colors: Black on Kraft Textured Paper, Antique White on Vellum, and either Antique Pink or Antique Teal Blue, both on White Gold Metallic Paper.  Ok, I lied this is absolutely my favorite.

Can't get enough of cameos?  Be sure to check out all the Halloween Cameos I found for last weeks Trendwatch: Vintage Halloween article.  You won't be sorry.  Oh, and be sure to take a peek at the tutorial below for how to use your digital die-cutter to make your very own custom cameos!

Monday Super Steal - Page Scene - Halloween Night

Today's post is going to be short and sweet.  "Why", you ask?  Seriously, you are asking why? You ought to be celebrating!  I am not known for my brevity.  In fact, it's taken me {how many sentences, now?} to tell you this was going to be short and sweet?  Don't ask why, people!  Just count your blessings!

Wait, wait!  I just couldn't resist and had to edit this post to tell you that I was featured in the VDBC Newsletter! I couldn't be more excited.  And what you should be excited about, is that there's a Sam & Hailey freebie in there, too!  Check it out!  Okay, back to your regularly scheduled blog post.

I do need to inform you that I'm changing how I do the Monday Super Steal.  Instead of just offering a special price on an item in the store, I'm offering a coupon.  "Why", you ask?  You are worse than my 5-year-old with the questions!  Okay, I'm doing the coupon because it allows me to give you a coupon on top of an existing sale price.  Hey, that's a good thing for you, missus-question-face!

Today's Monday Super Steal is:  Page Scene - Halloween Night

What makes this such a Super Steal? This design is already on sale for 25% off as a part of my month long "Fall in love with Sam & Hailey" sale on all my Halloween and Fall items.  The coupon will give you an EXTRA 50% off the sale price!  So instead of the regular $3.99 price, you can get this baby for just $1.49 today!  Sweet deal!

This is a super easy way to add a page to your album.  It's all laid out for you.  You just tuck a photo here or there and you are done!  Easy to cut {and} assemble.  Click on the image above to go shopping. Be sure to get the code first, though!

The coupon code for this deal is: JB_HALLOWEEN1

You'll need to enter the code in the shopping cart page {before} you go to checkout.  The coupon is only good today, so don't miss out!

Fantabulous Friday Freebie: Itty Bitty Photo Turns

Phew! What a week! Sometimes I wonder why I persist in biting off more than I can chew. But I guess I managed to get a lot done, so really, it's not so bad, after all. One thing I've discovered? I'm not used to sitting at a desk all day long anymore. I suppose that's a good thing, but boy is my back sore! I'm thinking a nice long sleep in is in order for tomorrow morning.

So, with that said, I'm going to keep is short and sweet today. It's Freebie time!

Today I'm sharing my die-cut design: Itty Bitty Photo Turns

I love my Itty Bitty files. They are taking quite a bit of time to get uploaded into the store, though! I thought maybe you'd enjoy having one today. This one goes great with those vintage labels we were talking about earlier this week!

Boring but Important Legal Stuff: My terms of use are included in each zipped download. If you have any questions about how you may use this file, please read it. By clicking to download the file, you are agreeing to abide by the terms. If you'd like to share it, please don't. Rather, send your friends a link to this blog post. Once it's no longer available as a freebie, you might be tempted to share it with someone. Please don't! 'Nuf said!

This download will be available for only 24 hours!

Sorry!  This download has expired!  Looking for more Sam & Hailey freebies?  Check out the latest edition of the VDBC Newsletter!

Here's an example of this file. I used it to adorn one of the pages of the Perpetual Calendar I made a while back. These are little photo turns I cut from grungeboard and then painted. They look so cute with those jewel brads! Seeing this picture made me thing of the old blog post where I had all the details on this project. I decided to re-post it on the new blog. Just scroll down to the previous post to check it out!

Did you know that the VDBC Anniversary Party is coming up? There's going to be all sorts of fun starting in just a couple of weeks. I'm going to be hosting at least 3 or 4 challenges here on my blog and in the forum. You know you want to join in!
