On the 7th Day of Christmas Creativity...

Iit's my turn to host the 7th Day of Christmas Creativity!  Woo Hoo!

Well, now, it's exactly one week until Christmas!  So exciting!  I really love this time of year.  I know, I know, I complain that Christmas is coming too fast.  And in a way, the really complaint is that I wish the holiday season lasted longer.  Why do I take on so much? Why do I think I have to do so much?  I wish I could just relax and enjoy the season.  Does this happen to you, too?

I need to find some way to bring myself back to what's really important.  Oh right, remember what I said on the 1st Day of Christmas Creativity?  Service!  Time to get out and do some more service.  That will bring me back to reality.  Then I'll realize that all that stuff I thought was so super important really isn't and that it's okay to let a few things go.

I know, I know, what you are really here for is the next tag in the set.  Are you excited to see some swans a-swimming?  I love swans. The look so serene swimming on a beautiful lake.  Let me tell you though, they aren't very nice.  Not to be negative or anything.  Ever come upon one? I have, and these things are big and don't like people near their nests or babies!  I prefer to enjoy from afar, thank you very much!

This design will only be up for today, so be sure to grab it while you are here! Click to download your favorite file type.  Remember to click and not to right click!  You need to go to the download page or you won't actually get the zip file!

SORRY!  This download has expired.  Please look for it in the Sam & Hailey Designs Store!

Before you go be sure to enter my 12 Day of Christmas Creativity drawings! In case you missed it the other day, I've decided to give away more copies of my complete set of 12 Days of Christmas Tags. Be sure and enter by commenting on each day!

Here are the prizes:

1) Three Prizes: The whole set of 12 Days of Christmas Tags
2) $10 gift code to Sam & Hailey Designs
3) $10 Michaels Gift Card
4) The December VDBC Grab Bag (or a $7 gift code to Sam & Hailey Designs if you have already purchased it)

How can you win them? On the 12th Day (that will be the 23rd for our little blog-fest) I'll hold a drawing for each one of the prizes (that's four six drawings in one day... I think I can handle it!). All you have to do to enter is comment on my blog to enter. You can comment on my blog on each of the 12 days so you'll have up to 12 entries in the drawings! Each day I'll have a new thing I'll ask you to include in your comment so keep an eye out for that. It's as simple as that!

Today's comment requirement:

Leave a comment with something you do to try to remember the true meaning of Christmas. I need all the ideas I can get!

Be sure to include some way to contact you in case you win the drawing (for example, your VDBC forum name, your email address, etc.). If you don't, I might not be able to get your prize to you!

Time to get crafty, people!

Loving these 12 days of Christmas tags - they are fantastic. I think it is important to remember the true meaning of Christmas - and at our house we do that in a couple of ways. First, we keep a nativity prominently displayed under our tree. Second, we try to make the holiday a little cheerier for people - especially children and seniors - who have not had the good fortune that we have been blessed with. This year, we participated in the Salvation Army Angel tree - and also Toys for Tots. Honestly, we should do this year 'round - and I hope do do a better job of paying forward my blessings this next year.

Thanks for the great files. Each year we take our granddaughters to see a local live nativity. It usually isn't fancy, but the re-enactment always brings the message home better than reading, songs or other ways of conveying the true meaning of Christmas. Thanks for the chance to win the entire set.

This one is easy. Every year I bake and decorate a cake for Jesus. We tell the story about the birth of Christ, sing Happy Birthdy to Jesus and the little one blows out the candles on the cake.

We remember by lighting the advent candles every week and setting up the nativity.
I agree about the swans. They can be nasty, but are truly one of God's most beutiful creatures.

I believe that giving of ones self is the true meaning of Christmas. We try to find some way to make Christmas for an underprivileged family special. This might include shoveling their driveway, baking for them, or buying them gifts for under their tree. If they don't have a vehicle, it might mean transporting them for a period of time to make their lives just a little better.
We also put up the nativity set and read the Christmas story in our home. We downplay receiving gifts and concentrate on the idea of giving.

gorgeous tag! I put out a Nativity so that we remember that Christmas is not just about presents. We also talk a lot about the reason for the season!

I am loving the tags too.
If I don't win, at least I have a good start on them. LOL
Christmas is all about Christ.
When we were young our mom told us to never write "XMAS" because it took "Christ" out of "Christmas"
I will never forget that as long as I live.
And I have never written it that way, until today.
But wanted to pass that along.
Hugs,
Nance

Oh, boy, am I glad you will have more drawings. I went to bed sick on Thursday night and this is the first day I'm up again, so I missed a lot. There was that, then I also didn't save correctly and just got shortcuts. I'm glad the sicklies are over so I have my brain back! Your sweet designs are just to nice to not have at chance at!

I have been reading a board book to Alex every night called Christmas in the Manger. Thanks for the tag. It's beautiful!

We decorate with nativity sets. We have one in our front yard, we made as a family project--from wood--complete with kings, shepherds, sheep, camels, cows, the angel, the star, donkey, and of course Mary, Joseph and the Babe in a manger. We also have a pewter nativity set, a hand built rustic wooden one and one made of felt that the kids could play with. All of them still are up in my house.

We read a christmas story each night during the month of December and they are usually meaningful and/or Christ centered stories.

These tags are a great idea. 3 of our grandsons are in Boy Scouts. They make Christmas cards and deliver to nursing homes. I enjoy going with them as they visit. I help corral their younger siblings who also attend the event. It is great seeing the enjoyment of the older people who talk to them.
